Featured farm stays map

I created a map showing all the farms I've written about here on Farm Stay USA. Hopefully, the map will make the farm stay posts more accessible and better organized than they were when they were only listed in the blog archives. A small version of this map will always show up on the right hand side of the blog along with the other widgets, but it works much better in large form. You can always access the larger map with the link underneath the small map widget. Each placemark has a link to my post about the farm; you can also access the farms' websites and additional information via the placemarks.

  1. Hi Michelle,

Great information you are putting together to help farms.

I'd like to introduce you to our program which is designed to help farms by connecting RV and Motorhome owners to agritourism sites.

Our program is Harvest Hosts, www.harvesthosts.com.

Harvest Hosts is a network of vineyards, farms and producers that invite RV owners to spend the night (not more than 24 hours) on their properties. This free program is the first of its kind in the United States and is based on extremely successful programs in Europe. Harvest Hosts began in November last year and to date we have nearly 90 wineries, farms and orchards in 20 states.

This is a program that is mutually beneficial to the farms and the RV owners; studies have shown that the goodwill generated by allowing RV owners to stay overnight motivates them to make purchases. It costs the farms nothing to participate and the program can be tailored to fit the farms’ seasons and days of operation.

I would welcome your review of our website and your comments. Please feel free to contact me directly from the link on our website. Thank you. Don Greene
